Everyday Miracles

27 Sep

Men cannot say they do not know about God. From the beginning of the world, men could see what God is like through the things He has made. This shows His power that lasts forever. It shows that He is God.

– Romans 1:20, New Life Version (NLV)

Several years ago I heard a quote that has stuck with me.  I can’t remember the exact words but it was something to the effect of “We look for miracles and wonders every day, yet we pass by people – God’s most incredible and profound creation – without taking any notice at all.”

People can be frustrating.  Especially when you’re behind the wheel and they’re driving like they own the road.  Can I get an “amen?”

But each person on the planet – each person you pass on the road, in the parking lot,  in the lobby, in the hallway, in the store – was fearfully and wonderfully made.  Intricately woven to be just the way she is.  Carefully designed to be just the way he is.  And regardless of what we look like, we are even more complex and wonderful on the inside.

Capturing a person at the precise moment that the shutter clicks – the moment when a child is laughing, a grandpa is smiling, a newborn is looking at the world for the first time – is a timeless, precious treasure.  Capturing expressions before they fade away, emotions before they disappear, is a gift to hold onto forever.

Dabbling in photography has taught me a lot.  It has shown me that God’s most incredible creation – human beings – are so much more than meets the eye.

Oh, Wendy, how I love your words and how true they are. Truly you can see God everywhere and taking pictures just keeps awesome sights in our memory. Thanks
